The (Un)original Dryer D2 combines dual-spool storage with a modular design for your 3D printing workspace. Keep two filament spools inside a transparent enclosure, route filament through the front outlets, and choose a silica-gel module or an optional heating module to suit your setup.
With bearing-supported spool rollers, load-cell hardware, an RFID reader, and a front display with rotary control, the D2 brings filament storage and management together in one enclosure.
Keep two filament spools together for convenient access and a tidier workspace. The front-opening door makes spool changes straightforward, while clear panels let you check the contents without opening the box.
Front-mounted PC4-M10 fittings provide connections for PTFE tubing, allowing filament to feed from the enclosure to your printer. Bearing-supported rollers help the spools rotate smoothly as filament is pulled through.
Each spool position uses a load-cell arrangement connected to the control electronics. This provides the hardware foundation for monitoring spool weight and managing filament usage.
Displayed readings and available functions depend on the installed firmware and calibration.
The design includes an RFID reader for compatible tag-based filament identification. Supported tags and identification functions depend on the installed firmware and configuration.
A front-mounted display and rotary encoder provide a convenient interface for viewing system information and accessing supported functions.
Choose the module that fits your needs:
Silica-gel module: A removable desiccant container for helping maintain a dry storage environment.
Optional heating module: Adds a heating element, fans, a thermistor, and dedicated heater-control electronics for active drying.
The clip-in module design uses spring latches for convenient removal and installation.
Transparent panels provide visibility from multiple angles. An internal LED strip makes it easier to inspect the spools and filament path.
The D2 uses an ESP32-based control system and a modular assembly with separate electronics, spool supports, enclosure panels, and moisture-management components. Its construction suits users who enjoy assembling and configuring their own printing accessories.
Heating is available only when the heating module is installed. Without the heater, the silica-gel module is required for moisture-controlled storage.
For active drying, follow your filament manufacturer's recommended temperature and duration. Spool fit depends on spool dimensions. Please check the selected product option for included components, assembly requirements, and heater availability.
